Wool Walk (2016)
Wool Walk (2016)
Commissioned by Deveron Arts.
Location: White Woods, Huntly, Aberdeenshire.
Experimental Performance and Participatory Event.
40 minutes (two 20 minute performances over the course of the event)
I encouraged attendees to dissect their own pace by using walking as a tool into the political and personal notions attached to the term ‘disability’. I intended to start a dialogue between the political and the personal; disability discrimination, lack of accessibility and its effect on the disabled identity, the body in the landscape, the language of walking, the choreographed exchange of staring in relation to disability rituals based upon the everyday.
